Rieke Corporation - Auburn IN
International Classification:
B65D 3700
US Classification:
222494, 222482, 222491, 222496
Abstract:
A fluid dispensing closure which incorporates a dispensing valve to control fluid flow through the closure and a vent passageway to vent air into the container as necessary. The closure includes a dispensing spout capable of mating engagement with a receiving container. The dispenser spout has a fluid passageway with a resilient valve made from an elastomeric material seated therein. The vent passageway formed in the closure is selectively sealed by a grommet depending upon the vacuum created within the container as the fluid is being dispensed from the container. A removable overcap sealingly covers the dispensing spout to capture any fluid leakage.

US Patent:
6997354, Feb 14, 2006
Filed:
Feb 13, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/365910
Inventors:
Thomas P. Kasting - Fort Wayne IN, US
Robert D. Rohr - LaOtto IN, US
Assignee:
Rieke Corporation - Auburn IN
International Classification:
B67D 1/16
US Classification:
222111, 222109, 222542, 222546, 222569, 215344
Abstract:
A container for the storage and dispensing of a liquid and which incorporates a sealing mechanism includes a blow-molded container body including a neck portion having a series of external threads and defining an annular, non-planar sealing surface, a pouring spout assembled into the body and a unitary closing lid including a series of internal threads constructed and arranged to engage the threads of the neck portion. The unitary closing lid includes the sealing mechanism in the form of a pair of annular sealing lips constructed and arranged to be compressed against the annular, non-planar sealing surface to establish a sealed interface between the closing lid and the body.

Closed Loop Fluid Dispensing System

View page
US Patent:
7121437, Oct 17, 2006
Filed:
Sep 3, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/654100
Inventors:
Thomas P. Kasting - Fort Wayne IN, US
Assignee:
Rieke Corporation - Auburn IN
International Classification:
B67D 3/00
US Classification:
222482, 222548, 220726
Abstract:
A fluid dispensing system includes a closure assembly. The closure assembly is configured to enclose a container opening. The closure assembly has a fluid supply tube with an opening and a shut-off valve threadedly coupled to the supply tube. The shut-off valve has a valve member configured to close the opening in the supply tube upon rotating the shut-off valve in a first direction and to open the opening in the supply tube upon rotating the shut-off valve in a second direction. A cap assembly is coupled to the closure assembly. The cap assembly has a connector member with a fluid passage fluidly coupled to the supply tube. The cap assembly is coupled to the shut-off valve to rotate the shut-off valve in the first direction and the second direction. The configuration of the system eliminates the need for spring based valves.

Inverted Dispensing Pump With Vent Baffle

View page
US Patent:
7325704, Feb 5, 2008
Filed:
Dec 28, 2004
Appl. No.:
11/024126
Inventors:
Thomas P. Kasting - Fort Wayne IN, US
Assignee:
Rieke Corporation - Auburn IN
International Classification:
B65D 88/54
US Classification:
2223214, 222564
Abstract:
A fluid dispensing system includes a pump for pumping fluid from a container. The pump has a vent opening for venting air into the fluid in the container to normalize pressure inside the container as the fluid is pumped. An intake shroud is coupled to the pump, and the shroud includes a channel opening to draw fluid from the container into the pump in a straw-like manner. A baffle is positioned between the vent opening and the channel opening of the shroud to reduce ingestion of the air into the pump so as to reduce short or inconsistent dosing of the fluid when pumped.

Inverted Dispensing Pump

US Patent:
7389893, Jun 24, 2008
Filed:
Sep 10, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/659462
Inventors:
Thomas P. Kasting - Fort Wayne IN, US
Assignee:
Rieke Corporation - Auburn IN
International Classification:
B65D 88/54
US Classification:
2223214, 2223219, 222380, 222384
Abstract:
A fluid dispensing system includes a pump body configured to couple to a container. The pump body defines fluid inlet openings and a pump cavity. A shroud cover covers the pump body to draw fluid from the container. An inlet valve allows fluid from the container to enter the pump cavity through the fluid inlet openings. A plunger is slidably received in the pump cavity, and the plunger defines a fluid passage with a dispensing opening through which the fluid is dispensed. A shipping seal seals the fluid passage during shipping to minimize leakage of the fluid during shipping. An outlet valve is disposed inside the fluid passage to minimize the height of the fluid between the outlet valve and the dispensing opening so as to minimize dripping of fluid from the dispensing opening. The pump body includes a venting structure to normalize the air pressure inside the system.
