"No Surprises" Presidential Mortgage Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of Presidential Bank, FSB. The bank is based out of Bethesda, Maryland and was founded in 1985. We have correspondent relationships with a dozen other nationally recognized firms and we underwrite, process and close 95% of all of our transactions. The reason we try to maintain this high percentage of lender vs broker business is that as a lender it allows us the opportunity to maintain control during the transaction. It is our underwriter, it is our processor, they are our funds that go to the title company and our closer that prepares the docs. I am not on someone else's time schedule. We do, however, broker a small percentage of our business to offer as many programs as possible to the public. These are programs not offered by our correspondent partners. I take the pre-qualification process and what I provide in my pre-qual letters very seriously. Every letter I submit will have had a tri-merge credit report pulled on the borrowers. I also submit most of my applications through Fannie Mae's DU ( Desk Top Underwriter automated underwriting service) or Freddie Mac's LP ( Loan Prospector automated underwriting service). I will not issue a pre-qual letter unless I am confident I can get the borrower to settlement. My reputation is at stake. To that end, I am meticulous about detail we cover.
