View page
US Patent:
41422929, Mar 6, 1979
Filed:
Jan 16, 1978
Appl. No.:
5/869884
Inventors:
Ray R. Ulrich - Trenton NJ
International Classification:
B27B 1702
US Classification:
30371
Abstract:
An adapter for use attached to a chain saw for trimming hedges and cutting brush which includes a mounting member adapted to be fixedly secured to a chain saw guide or blade by mounting in the normally available bolt holes at the forward and rearward sections of the guide, the adapter further including a plurality of dividers forming a plurality of dividing channels therebetween in which the individual sticks or hedge members are gathered and compressed for cutting, the dividing channels being formed by dividing surfaces on the adjacent sides of said dividers to facilitate grouping of the hedges, the dividers further including a gathering surface positioned adjacent a stopping surface which is formed by the mounting member such that the gathering surface and the stopping surface are at an acute angle with respect to one another of preferably less than 90. degree. such that as the chain saw teeth pass parallel with respect to the stopping surface the hedge elements will be gathered into the narrow constriction formed between the gathering surface and the stopping surface to thereby be held therein for instant and efficient cutting thereof.

Emergency Lighting Apparatus With Movable Protective Shield Adapted For Use With Movable Environmental Structure

View page
US Patent:
50579835, Oct 15, 1991
Filed:
Jul 16, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/553049
Inventors:
Ray R. Ulrich - Trenton NJ
Assignee:
Rudy's Armature Service, Inc. - Rahway NJ
International Classification:
F21V 100
F21V 1702
US Classification:
362276
Abstract:
An emergency lighting apparatus designed for attachment with respect to a movable environmental structure such as a vertically movable dump body of a truck which is movable between a raised position and a down position wherein the emergency light includes a light shield pivotally movable with respect to the housing of the light responsive to gravitational force exerted therein to continuously shield the light from passing directly downwardly therefrom to prevent excessive glare being experienced by the truck driver when located in an area immediately adjacent to the truck cab. The light shield may include an opaque section to facilitate the light shading and may include an auxiliary weight secured with respect thereto to maintain proper orientation of the light shield with respect to the housing of the light during movement of the dump body of the truck between the raised and down positions. The light shield may be pivotally secured for restricted rotational movement with respect to the lens of the light fixture.
