Abstract:
Systems and methods consistent with the present invention use a remote-control device to retrieve digital images from portable digital memory and transmit the digital image to a computer, a network, or another remote-control device. A user inserts the portable digital memory into a the remote-control device and browses the digital images stored in the portable digital memory. Upon the users instructions, the remote-control device transmits the digital image, preferably using an infrared transmitter. The user can also receive digital images from a computer, a network, or another remote-control device. A user inserts the portable digital memory into the remote-control device and the remote-control device receives a digital image, preferably using an infrared receiver. Upon the users instructions, the remote-control device stores the digital image into the portable digital memory.

Abstract:
A method for processing digital images and displaying them on a television receiver is provided. Initially, an image processing device receives digital image data from a digital camera or other digital device. Next, the digital image is stored on a storage device associated with the image processing device. This digital image on the storage device is converted into television signals and supplied to a television receiver where it can be displayed. Another aspect of the present invention provides an apparatus for processing these images. This apparatus includes a first input terminal capable of receiving digital image data, a second input terminal capable of receiving commands from a user, an output terminal capable of supplying digital image data to a television receiver external to the apparatus, a storage device associated with the apparatus capable of storing the digital image data, and a processor capable of executing instructions in response to commands received over the second input terminal that store the received digital image in the storage device, converts the digital images into television signals, and transmit the television signals to the television receiver for display thereon.

Abstract:
A method and system for automatically adding effects to still images are described. In one embodiment, a source image and a template are selected. Further, designated areas of the source image are automatically replaced with template image information, the template image information alters the source image to produce special effects. In an alternate embodiment, designated areas of the source image are automatically replaced with template image information, the template image information giving the appearance of animation of the source image. Abstract:
A system and method for indicating suggested user responses is disclosed. The method includes loading an image into image-editing equipment. The method further includes determining a set of quality-related problems of the image using software. An animated icon is displayed in conjunction with the image, and indicates a suggested user response to one of the quality-related problems. Other embodiments may include matching a corrective function with one of said set of quality-related problems, and indicating the suggested user response in response to the matching. Further embodiments may perform the indicating by having the animated icon proffer a tool icon, or by performing a related editing to the animated icon. Finally, in other embodiments the method may include moving the animated icon to alternate image-editing equipment.
