International Classification:
H04B 5/00
US Classification:
455 411
Abstract:
Described herein are techniques related one or more systems, apparatuses, methods, etc. for a wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) based wireless docking in an enterprise environment. In an implementation, a separate low radiating antenna is constructed and installed at a bottom surface of a wireless device and at a docking surface of a docking station. In this implementation, the low radiating antenna is configured to provide local wireless communication (i.e., Wi-Fi based communication) between a docking pair that includes the wireless device and the docking station.

Method And Apparatus For Automatically Converting From An Analog Voice Mode To A Simultaneous Voice And Data Mode For A Multi-Modal Call Over A Telephone Line

Jun 24, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/265314
Inventors:
Barry O'Mahony - Banks OR
Narjala Bhasker - Portland OR
Assignee:
Intel Corporation - Santa Clara CA
International Classification:
H04M 1100
US Classification:
379 93
Abstract:
An enhanced micro-controller having multiple operating modes, including an idle mode, an analog voice mode, a digital data mode, and a simultaneous voice and data mode, and control logic for establishing multiple logical connections and voice as well as data transmission protocols over these logical connections with another DCE, when switching from the analog voice mode to the simultaneous voice and data mode, is provided to a DCE designed to support multi-modal voice and/or data calls over a single analog-loop telephone line. In one embodiment, the establishment of the voice transmission protocol includes joint negotiation of the voice compression/decompression algorithm to be used by the mode transition initiating and responding DCEs.

US Patent:
62020846, Mar 13, 2001
Filed:
Jun 14, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/333174
Inventors:
Vineet Kumar - Beaverton OR
Narjala Bhasker - Portland OR
Assignee:
Intel Corporation - Santa Clara CA
International Classification:
G06F 1300
US Classification:
709204
Abstract:
A computer program product and system for providing a back-channel for a receiver terminal in a conference is described. In one embodiment, the computer program product includes a computer usable medium having computer program code embodied therein to receive media streams of one or more terminals in a panel on a multicast address. The computer program product further includes computer readable program code to connect to a multipoint controller in the panel by using a multipoint address, and computer readable program code to join the panel to transmit and receive media streams on the multicast address and for establishing bi-directional communication with the one or more terminals.

Interrupt Distribution Scheme For A Computer Bus

View page
US Patent:
52822729, Jan 25, 1994
Filed:
Jan 28, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/010486
Inventors:
Charles B. Guy - Hillsboro OR
Sudarshan B. Cadambi - Beaverton OR
Michael J. Gutmann - Portland OR
Narjala Bhasker - Portland OR
Jim R. Trethewey - Beaverton OR
Brian J. McArdle - Beaverton OR
Assignee:
Intel Corporation - Santa Clara CA
International Classification:
G06F 946
US Classification:
395275
Abstract:
A method of handling processor to processor interrupt requests in a multiprocessing computer bus environment is described. This method allows a multiple-tiered, increasing priority, interrupt request scheme. This method also allows processor to processor directed interrupt requests, processor to one processor of a group of processors interrupt requests, and processor to all processors of a group of processors interrupt requests.

Method And Apparatus For Multiplexing Voice And Data On A Single Analog-Loop Telephone Line

View page
US Patent:
56920350, Nov 25, 1997
Filed:
Mar 22, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/622444
Inventors:
Barry O'Mahony - Banks OR
Narjala Bhasker - Portland OR
Assignee:
Intel Corporation - Santa Clara CA
International Classification:
H04M 1100
US Classification:
379 93
Abstract:
An enhanced micro-controller having multiple operating modes, including an idle mode, an analog voice mode, a digital data mode, and a simultaneous voice and data (SVD) mode, is provided to a DCE designed to support multi-modal voice and/or data calls over a single analog-loop telephone line. The enhanced micro-controller further contains control logic for establishing multiple logical connections and voice as well as data transmission protocols over these logical connections with another DCE, when switching from the analog voice mode to the SVD mode, and for multiplexing voice and data transmissions over these logical connections. During operation, the control logic transmits voice over a logical voice connection in nominally fixed intervals without error control, i. e. re-transmission for reliability. If non-voice transmission, i. e.

View page
US Patent:
62981218, Oct 2, 2001
Filed:
Aug 12, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/910065
Inventors:
Eric Samson - Folsom CA
Barry O'Mahony - Banks OR
Narjala Bhasker - Portland OR
Assignee:
Intel Corporation - Santa Clara CA
International Classification:
H04M 1100
US Classification:
379 9309
Abstract:
An enhanced micro-controller having multiple operating modes is provided to an otherwise conventional data circuit terminating equipment (DCE). The enhanced micro-controller, responsive to local events as well as local and remote commands, controls the operation of the DCE in one of at least four modes, an idle mode, an analog voice mode, a digital data mode, and a simultaneous voice and data (SVD) mode. As a result of the improved manner in which the micro-controller operates the DCE, users employing the improved DCE may perform voice and data communication using only a single analog-loop telephone line and in a much more user friendly manner.
