US Patent:
47738197, Sep 27, 1988
Filed:
Sep 26, 1986
Appl. No.:
6/912215
Inventors:
Max I. Gurth - El Cajon CA
International Classification:
F04D 1100
US Classification:
415 90
Abstract:
A pump for pumping a slurry includes a rotary pump having a plain disc impeller disposed in a cylindrical chamber of a housing with an inlet coaxial of the impeller into the housing and a substantially square outlet from the periphery of the chamber, with the rotor arranged to provide a substantially unobstructed passage between the inlet past the rotor to the outlet of the pump.

Method And Apparatus For Pumping Large Solid Articles

View page
US Patent:
43359949, Jun 22, 1982
Filed:
Jul 7, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/166185
Inventors:
Max I. Gurth - El Cajon CA
International Classification:
F01D 136
B65G 5330
US Classification:
415 90
Abstract:
A pump for pumping large solid articles includes a rotary pump having a plain disc impeller disposed in a substantially cylindrical chamber of a housing with an inlet coaxial of the impeller into the housing and an outlet from the periphery of the chamber with a rotor arranged to provide a substantially unobstructed passage between the inlet past the discs of the rotor to the outlet of the pump. The impeller includes pairs of discs spaced close together for providing increased fluid pressure and pairs spaced apart a distance for providing a passage for the solid articles. The articles are pumped in a fluid medium, such as water, through the pump and maintained suspended during transport from the inlet to the outlet of the system.

Method And Apparatus For Pumping Fragile Articles

View page
US Patent:
45141398, Apr 30, 1985
Filed:
Feb 17, 1983
Appl. No.:
6/467457
Inventors:
Max I. Gurth - El Cajon CA
International Classification:
F01D 136
US Classification:
415 90
Abstract:
A pump for pumping fragile articles including fish and glasses without damage includes a rotary pump having a plain disc impeller disposed in a substantially cylindrical chamber of a housing with an inlet into, or coaxial of, the impeller into the housing and an outlet from the periphery of the chamber, with the rotor arranged to provide a substantially unobstructed passage between the inlet past the rotor to the outlet of the pump. The method includes pumping fragile articles in a fluid medium by means of a disc impeller pump having an unobstructed passageway between the inlet and outlet of the pump.
