View page
US Patent:
20110319136, Dec 29, 2011
Filed:
Jun 23, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/821969
Inventors:
Michael P. Labowicz - Palatine IL, US
Scott A. Macdonald - Chicago IL, US
Stephanie M. McNee - Chicago IL, US
Kazuhiro Ondo - Buffalo Grove IL, US
John Touvannas - San Diego CA, US
Assignee:
MOTOROLA, INC. - Schaumburg IL
International Classification:
H04W 88/02
US Classification:
455566
Abstract:
There is described a method of a wireless communication device for managing status components for global call control. A selectable region is displayed at a display. A first user input is then detected at an input component associated with the display corresponding to selection of the selectable region. Next, an active call status component associated with a current call is displayed at the display in response to the first user input. A second user input is detected at the input component corresponding to selection of the current call status component. Thereafter, active call information associated with an active call is displayed at the display or an active call is terminated in response to detecting the second user input.

Method And Apparatus To Facilitate Forward Channel Gain Adjustment With Respect To Soft Handoff

View page
US Patent:
20070015513, Jan 18, 2007
Filed:
Jul 12, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/179317
Inventors:
Dean Thorson - Grayslake IL, US
Kazuhiro Ondo - Buffalo Grove IL, US
Eric Tsou - Chicago IL, US
International Classification:
H04Q 7/20
US Classification:
455442000, 455436000
Abstract:
Upon detecting () at least a potential soft handoff of a mobile station, wherein the soft handoff would entail a net reduction in allocated system resources for that mobile station, one automatically facilitates adjustment () of the forward channel gain for at least one base station as is presently supporting that mobile station prior to actually effecting the net reduction in allocated system resources.

Method And Device For Command Phrase Validation

View page
US Patent:
20150031416, Jan 29, 2015
Filed:
Dec 27, 2013
Appl. No.:
14/142234
Inventors:
- Libertyville IL, US
Kazuhiro Ondo - Buffalo Grove IL, US
Andrew K. Wells - Lindenhurst IL, US
Hideki Yoshino - Lake Zurich IL, US
Assignee:
Motorola Mobility LLC - Libertyville IL
International Classification:
H04M 1/60
US Classification:
455563
Abstract:
A method on a mobile device for a wireless network is described. An audio input is monitored for a trigger phrase spoken by a user of the mobile device. A command phrase spoken by the user after the trigger phrase is buffered. The command phrase corresponds to a call command and a call parameter. A set of target contacts associated with the mobile device is selected based on respective voice validation scores and respective contact confidence scores. The respective voice validation scores are based on the call parameter. The respective contact confidence scores are based on a user context associated with the user. A call to a priority contact of the set of target contacts is automatically placed if the voice validation score of the priority contact meets a validation threshold and the contact confidence score of the priority contact meets a confidence threshold.

Method And System For Voice Recognition Employing Multiple Voice-Recognition Techniques

View page
US Patent:
20140122071, May 1, 2014
Filed:
Feb 22, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/774398
Inventors:
- Libertyville IL, US
Boris Bekkerman - Highwood IL, US
Michael P. Labowicz - Palatine IL, US
Kazuhiro Ondo - Buffalo Grove IL, US
Assignee:
Motorola Mobility LLC - Libertyville IL
International Classification:
G10L 15/26
US Classification:
704235
Abstract:
A method and system for voice recognition are disclosed. In one example embodiment, the method includes receiving voice input information by way of a receiver on a mobile device and performing, by way of at least one processing device on the mobile device, first and second processing operations respectively with respect to first and second voice input portions, respectively, which respectively correspond to and are based at least indirectly upon different respective portions of the voice input information. The first processing operation includes a speech-to-text operation and the second processing operation includes an alternate processing operation. Additionally, the method includes generating recognized voice information based at least indirectly upon results from the first and second processing operations, and performing at least one action based at least in part upon the recognized voice information, where the at least one action includes outputting at least one signal by an output device.
