B29C 65/70
H05K 13/04
US Classification:
362362, 29887, 26427214
Abstract:
An integral lamp assembly and method of construction thereof is provided. The integral lamp assembly includes a bulb and a plurality of terminals fixed to the bulb. The assembly further includes a socket having at least one through passage wherein the terminals extend through the at least one through passage. The assembly also includes a housing overmolded in bonded relation to at least one of the socket and the terminals such that the housing prevents the bulb from being removed from the socket and prevents the socket from being removed from the housing.

Led Light Module

View page
US Patent:
20120140481, Jun 7, 2012
Filed:
Sep 21, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/238083
Inventors:
Jeffrey Simchak - Dexter MI, US
Jeremy Wong - Royal Oak MI, US
International Classification:
F21V 7/09
F21V 7/06
F21V 7/07
US Classification:
36229607, 36229608
Abstract:
An economical LED light module configured to emit a uniform pattern of light from a single LED utilizing a minimal amount of energy and exhibiting a long and useful life is provided. The LED light module includes a main hyperbolic reflector and a plug receptacle having an electrical connector configured for electrical communication with a power source. A LED is mounted in electrical communication with the electrical connector. An elongate light pipe extends between a light receiving end configured to receive light emitted from the LED and a light emitting end. The light emitting end has a parabolic reflector positioned concentrically about a focal point of the hyperbolic reflector.

System Providing Functional Lighting Through An Opaque Finish

View page
US Patent:
20210247045, Aug 12, 2021
Filed:
Feb 10, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/172656
Inventors:
- Tecumeseh, CA
Jeffrey Simchak - Dexter MI, US
International Classification:
F21S 43/20
Abstract:
Disclosed is a system for making a vehicle lamp have an overall solid occluded appearance when the lamp is inactive, and allowing for the passage and optional filtering of light when the lamp is on. A light modifier is created that has optical elements on an inside surface, and an opaque or translucent covering on an opposite side of the modifier. The optical elements and corresponding apertures are aligned with each other and diversely configured.

Segmented Switchable Mirror Lamp Assembly

View page
US Patent:
20200400281, Dec 24, 2020
Filed:
Jun 19, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/906533
Inventors:
- Tecumeseh, CA
David Bjarne Hansen - Grand Rapids MI, US
Jeffrey Simchak - Dexter MI, US
International Classification:
F21S 41/675
F21S 41/153
Abstract:
A segmented switchable mirror vehicle headlamp includes a light source, a switchable electrochemical film having a plurality of segments, and a controller electrically coupled with each segment of the plurality of segments, such that each segment of the plurality of segments is individually controllable for switching between a substantially transparent state and a substantially reflective state. The plurality of segments include a low-beam array of segments configured for providing a low-beam light distribution from the light source, and a high-beam array of segments configured for providing a high-beam light distribution from the light source. The controller is configured for switching the low-beam array of segments and the high-beam array of segments between the substantially transparent state and the substantially reflective state for controlling the low-beam light distribution and the high-beam light distribution, respectively.

Self-Locating Light Source Module

View page
US Patent:
20140268842, Sep 18, 2014
Filed:
Mar 15, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/844536
Inventors:
- Southfield MI, US
Jeffrey Simchak - Dexter MI, US
International Classification:
F21S 8/10
US Classification:
362487
Abstract:
A self-locating light source module for an automotive lamp assembly having a reflector and housing to which the module is mounted. The light source module includes a socket and a light source holder captively retained in an aperture of the socket. The light source holder can undergo limited movement relative to the socket along a plurality of axes, including a central axis of the socket. The light source holder and central passage in the reflector having complementary tapered surfaces with the holder being biased into engagement with the passage such that the tapered surfaces and permitted relative movement of the holder allow the light source to self-locate at the desired position within the reflector.
