Cotton Basket Latch Structure

View page
US Patent:
56095236, Mar 11, 1997
Filed:
Aug 11, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/514280
Inventors:
Jeffrey J. Ringwald - Ankeny IA
Jeffrey R. Fox - Minburn IA
Assignee:
Deere & Company - Moline IL
International Classification:
A01F 1260
US Classification:
460119
Abstract:
A telescoping cotton harvester basket includes latches adjacent the four corners of the basket and spring loaded to automatically lock a basket extension in position as the extension moves from a retracted storage position to an extended harvest position. The latches are connected by fore-and-aft extending linkages and a transverse shaft for operation in unison from a single location to release the basket extension for movement back to the retracted storage position. A reset mechanism automatically moves the latches to a closed or locking position in preparation for the subsequent movement of the basket back to the extended harvest position so that only one manual activation of the latches is required for a complete basket extension-retraction cycle.

Basket Structure For A Cotton Harvester

US Patent:
54073901, Apr 18, 1995
Filed:
Dec 6, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/162731
Inventors:
Wesley G. Carney - Ankeny IA
Jeffrey J. Ringwald - Ankeny IA
Timothy A. Deutsch - Newton IA
Assignee:
Deere & Company - Moline IL
International Classification:
A01D 5720
A01D 7502
US Classification:
460119
Abstract:
A cotton basket is pivotally connected to a harvester frame for rocking about a fore-and-aft extending axis located a substantial distance above the basket floor on the side of the basket opposite the dump side. Simple single beam mast structures at the front and rear ends of the basket replace more conventional and massive multi-element mast structures typical in previously available harvesters. Cylinders connected near the center of gravity at the basket ends rock the basket upwardly and outwardly about the axis to a position above the wagon or module builder. The pivot angle through which the basket is rocked is substantially less than 30 degrees for minimal shifting of the center of gravity during dumping. Dump height is controlled by cylinder extension. The main conveyor floor has front and rear conveyors which move cotton to an independently controlled conveyor built into a fold-down door.

Folding Spray Implements Having Low Peak Fold Height-To-Wingspan Ratios And Agricultural Work Vehicles Including The Same

US Patent:
20210007345, Jan 14, 2021
Filed:
Jul 10, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/507209
Inventors:
- Moline IL, US
DANIEL J. KOENEN - Ankeny IA, US
GARRY E. BAXTER - Ankeny IA, US
JOHN M. SCHWEITZER - Ankeny IA, US
KODY A. SJOBLOM - Altoona IA, US
ALEJANDRO P. LYNCH - Moron, AR
JEFFREY J. RINGWALD - Ankeny IA, US
International Classification:
A01M 7/00
Abstract:
Folding spray implements and agricultural work vehicle equipped with folding spray implements are provided. In embodiments, the folding spray implement includes a centerframe assembly, boom assemblies mounted to opposing sides of the centerframe assembly, and an actuation system coupled to the centerframe and boom assemblies. The boom assemblies include, in turn, inner wings pivotally joined to the centerframe assembly for rotation about frame-to-wing fold joints, as well as outer wings pivotally joined to the inner wings for rotation about wing-to-wing fold joints. The actuation system selectively transitions the folding spray implement: (i) from a stowed position in which axes of wing-to-wing fold joints extend principally in horizontal directions; (ii) through an intermediate unfolded position in which the axes of the wing-to-wing fold joints extend principally in vertical directions; and (iii) to a deployed position in which the axes of the wing-to-wing fold joints extend principally in horizontal directions.
