Abstract:
A valve for automatically shutting off the flow of fluid in the event of a malfunction. The valve is provided with a body having an internal valve cavity in which a valve spool translates. The valve spool serves to control the flow of fluid between and inlet and outlet and is shiftable between an open and a closed position. The inlet and output pressures are monitored by internal ports to sense the occurrence of a malfunction and to automatically shift the valve to the closed position. A reset mechanism is also provided allowing the valve spool to be returned to the open position.
