Multi-Directional Vehicle Frame Straightening System

View page
US Patent:
6581434, Jun 24, 2003
Filed:
Mar 19, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/810099
Inventors:
Jose Ivan Vilches - Clifton NJ, 07011
Hector P. Vilches - Lake Hopatcong NJ, 07849
International Classification:
B21D 112
US Classification:
72447, 72705
Abstract:
A vehicle frame straightening system includes a rigid vertical post secured to a rigid base and a circumferential post sleeve slidably mounted about an upper segment of the post. The system further includes an elongate pulling member including a frame engagement element at one end and a circumferential sleeve slidably mounted about a central segment of the pulling member, the sleeve having a frame-opposing end and a fame-distal end. An axle is transversely mounted upon the post sleeve to which is pivotally secured the pulling sleeve member. The system also includes first and second linear position actuation elements, the first of which is pivotally mounted to the first sleeve above the axle. Selectable actuation of the second linear position actuation element effects incremental linear pulling of the pulling member inclusive of the frame engagement elements of the system.

Compensation System For Spiral Spring Hysteresis

View page
US Patent:
53240111, Jun 28, 1994
Filed:
Nov 18, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/976360
Inventors:
Jose I. Vilches - Clifton NJ
Hector Vilches - Clifton NJ
International Classification:
F16F 110
US Classification:
267156
Abstract:
A compensation system for a spiral spring hysteresis selectively provides a reactive compressive force to the spring after retractive movement of the outermost spring end relative to a fixed axial center of the spring. Such reactive compressive force reflects what, otherwise, would be the difference between the reactive forces of extension and retraction of the spring and along an axis of greatest transmissibility of force to the spring. The spring constants of extension and retraction of the spring are resultingly compensated.

System For Measuring Vector Coordinates

View page
US Patent:
52455556, Sep 14, 1993
Filed:
Oct 15, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/597855
Inventors:
Jose I. Vilches - Passaic NJ
Hector Vilches - Clifton NJ
International Classification:
G01B 525
US Classification:
364559
Abstract:
A system for measuring coordinates of a vector in x,y,z Cartesian space includes a flexible non-elastic string spirally mounted upon a selectably positively and negatively rotatably tensioned drum, the drum having an axle of rotation and being positively rotatable as a function of positive increments of length of the string. Mounted co-integrally with the drum axle is a translational measurement encoder for converting rotation of the drum axle into a signal output corresponding to positive increments of extension of length of the string. Further provided is an assembly for defining an origin of the vector to be measured, the assembly including an origin member having an aperture therein for slidable accommodation of the string. First and second encoders are provided for measurement of angle-related information to digital electronic computing means which algorithmically derive the x,y,z coordinates of the measured vector from signal outputs corresponding to measured increments of length of the string and to angular movements of the string relative to the Cartesian reference axes.
