Abstract:
A rotor for use in a rotary internal combustion engine comprises an opening configured to receive an output shaft, a plurality of faces disposed circumferentially around the opening, a recessed pocket disposed in one of the faces, and a flow-modifying member secured to the one face. The flow-modifying member modifies fuel/air flow within the recessed pocket, and controls fuel/air mixing in a combustion chamber adjacent the recessed pocket.
