Hydrophilic Polyurethane Foam

View page
US Patent:
20130274363, Oct 17, 2013
Filed:
Apr 11, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/860748
Inventors:
Fuminori Horio - Cresskill NJ, US
International Classification:
C08G 18/08
US Classification:
521156
Abstract:
A method for making hydrophilic polyurethane foam includes providing methylene diphenyl diisocyanate, mixing polyether polyols with the methylene diphenyl diisocyanate, and allowing the methylene diphenyl diisocyanate and the polyether polyols to form the hydrophilic polyurethane foam. The hydrophilic polyurethane foam has a content of ethylene oxide that is between about 30-100% by weight. The methylene diphenyl diisocyanate and polyols are mixed in a one-stage process. The hydrophilic polyurethane foam absorbs water in time period that is less than about 30 seconds.

Foam Cellular Matrix Impregnated With Anti-Microbial Active Agent For Use In Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Applications And Process For Producing The Same

US Patent:
20110195105, Aug 11, 2011
Filed:
Oct 6, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/898890
Inventors:
John I. Nanos - Ann Arbor MI, US
Fuminori Horio - Ann Arbor MI, US
International Classification:
A01N 25/08
A01N 59/16
A01P 1/00
US Classification:
424409, 424618
Abstract:
A foam cellular matrix and process for making the matrix. The matrix is for use in negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) applications. The matrix contains inorganic anti-microbial agent, which is added during foam generation. The elements mixed during foam generation comprise a polyol, a surfactant, a catalyst, water, an isocyanate, and the inorganic anti-microbial agent in the ratio of 0 to 6 parts inorganic anti-microbial agent to 100 parts polyol.

Hydrophilic Thermal Reticulated Polyurethane Foam Useable For Creation Of A Molten Metal Filter

US Patent:
20140163123, Jun 12, 2014
Filed:
Dec 6, 2013
Appl. No.:
14/098690
Inventors:
- Troy MI, US
Fuminori Horio - Cresskill NJ, US
Assignee:
INOAC USA, Inc. - Troy MI
International Classification:
C08L 75/06
US Classification:
521 52
Abstract:
A hydrophilic, polyurethane foam manufactured from a composition that includes 90-110 parts by weight of polyester polyol, 0.9-1.1 parts by weight of ester surfactant, 3-20 parts by weight of a hydrophilic surfactant, 1.89-2.31 parts by weight of a polyurethane catalyst, 0.126-0.154 parts by weight of an amine catalyst, 3.348-4.092 parts by weight of water, and 46.98-57.42 parts by weight of toluene diisocyanate. The polyurethane is capable of absorbing water in a time period of about 5 minutes or less. The polyurethane foam is a precursor to the formation of a molten metal filter.
