Separable Fibrous Insulation

View page
US Patent:
20050081481, Apr 21, 2005
Filed:
Oct 21, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/690295
Inventors:
Murray Toas - Norristown PA, US
Mark Buscher - Pine Hill NJ, US
Keith Steed - Ila GA, US
Dave Suda - Warrington PA, US
Mike Lembo - Souderton PA, US
Thomas Cuthbertson - Royersford PA, US
David Pacana - Spring City PA, US
International Classification:
E04C002/00
US Classification:
052782100
Abstract:
An insulation blanket includes a fibrous insulation layer and a facing material. The fibrous insulation layer has a first major surface and a second major surface and at least one longitudinal cut which extends from the first major surface to the second major surface and forms adjacent layer sections. Each layer section has at least one inner sidewall. At least a first inner sidewall of a first insulation layer section has applied thereto an adhesive for adhering together an adjacent second inner sidewall of a second adjacent layer section. The facing material has separation means which extends substantially along the at least one longitudinal cut. The facing material is disposed on the first major surface of the fibrous insulation layer.

Coated Liner For Curved Ducts

View page
US Patent:
60004371, Dec 14, 1999
Filed:
Jan 16, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/008177
Inventors:
Thomas E. Ponder - Broomall PA
David Pacana - Spring City PA
John O. Ruid - Schwenksville PA
Assignee:
Certain Teed Corporation - Valley Forge PA
International Classification:
F16L 914
F16L 1112
US Classification:
138149
Abstract:
An acoustical and thermal energy insulating liner for gas transfer ducts, primarily in heating, ventilating and air conditioning applications is provided for installation within ducts having curvilinear cross section. The liner is made from a rectangular central block of insulating material such as foam or nonwoven web of glass fibers. A plurality of grooves running the full length of the block second major dimension and parallel thereto are cut through the front face of the block to a depth short of the block thickness. The front face is coated with an elastically deformable substance that forms a barrier layer adjacent the substrate insulating material. The barrier layer bridges the gaps of the grooves and thus contains the insulating material at the floor and side walls of the grooves internal to the central block. The barrier layer can be formed after the grooves are cut by spreading across the front face of the central block a layer of foam. The foam is devolatilized to leave a thin, flexible, contiguous barrier layer coextensive with the front face.

Vane Rail And Its Assembly For An Air Duct

View page
US Patent:
62443003, Jun 12, 2001
Filed:
Dec 10, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/458635
Inventors:
David M. Pacana - Spring City PA
Assignee:
CertainTeed Corporation - Valley Forge PA
International Classification:
F15D 104
US Classification:
138 39
Abstract:
A vane rail has a plurality of tabs, in pairs, partially severed therefrom, to engage air deflection vanes in sandwiched relation therebetween. Fasteners may secure the connection between the sandwiching tabs and the vanes. When vanes and a pair of rails are used together in engagement with the vanes, an assembly is provided for disposition in an air duct for intercepting air flow in a duct and diverting it to a different direction.

Systems, Methods, And Apparatuses For Insulating Adjacent To A Top Of An Attic

View page
US Patent:
20180094428, Apr 5, 2018
Filed:
Sep 28, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/718628
Inventors:
- Malvern PA, US
Jerome ARUL - Providence RI, US
Andrew Clyde BRANDT - Pottstown PA, US
Todd P. DINOIA - Littleton MA, US
Luc Pierre VITRY - Philadelphia PA, US
Conor Patrick MCDONALD - Boston MA, US
David M. PACANA - Spring City PA, US
International Classification:
E04B 1/76
Abstract:
An insulation system for hanging insulation in a truss is disclosed and includes a first rail configured to be installed on a first truss and a second rail configured to be installed on a second truss spaced apart from the first truss. A first cavity is established between the first rail and the second rail. Further, the first cavity is configured to receive and engage a first insulation batt.

System, Method And Apparatus For Attic Rafter Extension For Storage

View page
US Patent:
20160348365, Dec 1, 2016
Filed:
Aug 9, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/232207
Inventors:
- Malvern PA, US
David M. PACANA - Spring City PA, US
