Assignee:
ROCKWELL AUTOMATION ASIA PACIFIC BUSINESS CTR. PTE., LTD - Singapore
International Classification:
G06F 3/0484
US Classification:
700 83
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and software for presenting predefined parameter subsets for industrial automation devices and equipment are provided herein. In one example, a non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon program instructions executable by a computing device is presented. When executed by the computing device, the program instructions direct the computing device to present a graphical user interface with at least one predetermined subset of parameters, receive a user selection for one of the at least one predetermined subset of operating parameters for an industrial automation device, identify parameters associated with the selected subset, and display the identified subset of parameters.

Programmable Control Module For An Industrial Device

View page
US Patent:
20120221155, Aug 30, 2012
Filed:
Feb 15, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/397607
Inventors:
Scott P. Miles - Belgium WI, US
Teck Siang Tan - Singapore, SG
Daniel Joseph Middlestetter - Lyndhurst OH, US
Alfred David Bassett - West Bend WI, US
See Yong Koh - Singapore, SG
Assignee:
Rockwell Automation Asia Pacific Business Center Pte. Ltd. - Singapore
International Classification:
G05F 5/00
US Classification:
700286
Abstract:
A control module for an industrial device is provided. The control module includes a coupling feature configured to facilitate removable attachment of the control module with the industrial device and a communicative coupling feature configured to facilitate communication between the control module and the industrial device when coupled with a corresponding communicative coupling feature of the industrial device. The control module also includes a port configured to communicatively couple with a connector capable of supplying power and data communication, wherein the port is configured to receive power via the connector and exchange data with a computer via the connector.

Rapid File Authentication On Automation Devices

View page
US Patent:
20200193000, Jun 18, 2020
Filed:
Dec 14, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/220787
Inventors:
- Mayfield Heights OH, US
Scott D. Braun - Menomonee Falls WI, US
Alex L. Nicoll - Brookfield WI, US
James B. Vitrano - South Milwaukee WI, US
James S. Rustad - Jackson WI, US
Daniel J. Middlestetter - Lyndhurst OH, US
International Classification:
G06F 21/12
G06F 21/44
H04L 9/32
G05B 19/05
G05B 19/042
Abstract:
An industrial device is configured to implement a lightweight file authentication sequence that rapidly verifies the integrity of mobile code supplied to the industrial device. The industrial device generates a file authentication code (FAC), which is stored on the industrial device and only made accessible to users via a local connection to the industrial device. The device-specific file FAC is installed on the program development application used to develop or edit the mobile code to be executed on the industrial device. The development application provides the mobile code to the industrial device together with a hash-based message authentication code (HMAC) generated using a retrieved copy of the FAC. The industrial device only permits execution of the mobile code if the HMAC included with the mobile code matches a locally created HMAC generated by the industrial device based on the mobile code and the device's local copy of the FAC.

US Patent:
20150249612, Sep 3, 2015
Filed:
Feb 26, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/632248
Inventors:
- Mayfield Heights OH, US
August B. Schrab - Saukville WI, US
Daniel J. Middlestetter - Lyndhurst OH, US
John James Jenks - Rocky River OH, US
Kurt R. Hohensee - Germantown WI, US
International Classification:
H04L 12/801
H04L 29/08
H04L 12/40
H02P 23/00
H04L 1/00
Abstract:
In some embodiments, a motor drive system includes a communication subassembly electrically coupled to a control subassembly for providing communication between the control subassembly and at least one external device. The control subassembly and the communication subassembly transmit and receive control data independently of messaging data, greatly enhancing performance and reducing the workload of processors on the control subassembly and communication subassembly. Additionally, the control subassembly and the communication subassembly transmit message data via sequence count based messaging. Communications between the communication subassembly and the control subassembly may include a series of timeout periods and retries, increasing reliability.
