Apparatus For Providing Leakage Calibration In Packages

View page
US Patent:
6382011, May 7, 2002
Filed:
May 9, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/852250
Inventors:
Daniel W. Mayer - Wyoming MN
Mark D. Evans - West St. Paul MN
Craig K. Loebig - Monticello MN
Assignee:
Mocon, Inc. - Minneapolis MN
International Classification:
B01N 2100
US Classification:
73 106
Abstract:
A plug for providing a predetermined flow rate of leakage gas from a sealed package for purposes of calibration of gas measurement instruments, the plug having an axial passage therethrough with a threaded interior wall; and a bolt for threading into the plug axial passage, the bolt having an axial passage therethrough, and an insert for insertion into the bolt axial passage, the insert having a predetermined size opening for permitting only a predictable flow of leakage gas through the plug.

Apparatus For Conducting Leakage Tests On Sealed Packages

Mocon, Inc. - Minneapolis MN
International Classification:
G01M 304
US Classification:
73 407, 73 498, 73 52
Abstract:
A fixture for testing a sealed container for possible leakage, having a removable cover and a silicon gel gasket affixed to the undersurface of the cover, and having a lower housing with a cavity for receiving the sealed container, the container top surface being isolated from the rest of the container surfaces by the silicon gel gasket.

System For Controlled Humidity Tests

View page
US Patent:
48523895, Aug 1, 1989
Filed:
Mar 28, 1988
Appl. No.:
7/174195
Inventors:
Daniel W. Mayer - Arden Hills MN
Craig K. Loebig - Elk River MN
Wayne K. Savick - Eden Prairie MN
Assignee:
Modern Controls, Inc. - Minneapolis MN
International Classification:
G01N 1508
G01M 300
US Classification:
73 38
Abstract:
A system for controlled humidity tests wherein gas transmission through a barrier may be measured, including apparatus for controllably mixing a dry gas and wet gas, for conveying the mixed gas to a test chamber or chambers for measurement of relative humidity and gas transition through a barrier, including gas transmission conduits having a pressure drop of less than 1 percent of ambient pressure, and including conduit temperature controls to maintain a controlled first temperature in the test chamber or chambers, and controlled higher temperatures in all other gas conduits.

Apparatus For Measuring The Transmission Rate Of Volatile Organic Chemicals Through A Barrier Material

View page
US Patent:
52654630, Nov 30, 1993
Filed:
Jul 24, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/920098
Inventors:
Craig Loebig - Elk River MN
Assignee:
Modern Controls, Inc. - Minneapolis MN
International Classification:
G01N 1508
US Classification:
73 38
Abstract:
A system for measuring the transmission rate of volatile organic chemicals through a barrier material, where a barrier material sample is clamped in a test cell so as to form a chamber on both sides of the material, with a temperature-controlled test gas conveyed into one chamber and a temperature-controlled carrier gas conveyed through the other chamber. The carrier gas is passed through a cryotrap where the organic chemicals are collected, and the carrier gas with collected chemicals is then burned in a flame ionization detector to measure the quantity of organic chemicals.
