Abstract:
A system and apparatus for protecting equipment sensitive to electro-static discharge is disclosed. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, an Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) key entry system for providing access to a restricted area that includes a locking element, a wireless element, and a controller element to manage operations of the locking element and the wireless element. The controller element can wirelessly detect an ESD protector in a vicinity to the ESD key entry system and enable the locking element to provide access to the restricted area. Systems and methods to process program wish list data are provided. A system includes a media receiver adapted to receive media content from a media distribution system and a recording module responsive to the media receiver. The system also includes a program guide module to receive a published program guide identifying media content available to be distributed via the media distribution system. Abstract:
Provided are methods, apparatus and systems for the sale of digital content over a network. The disclosure herein discusses the recording of a broadcast of a digital data stream by a broadcast receiving device. A listener may select a particular digital data stream to purchase by selecting a content identifier associated with the digital data stream of interest at the recording device. Upon obtaining the selection, a purchase request message is transmitted to an intermediary communication device. The purchase request message includes at least the content identifier. After the transaction is completed at a transaction server, a purchase confirmation message including at least a digital rights management key associated with the digital data stream is returned to and received by the broadcast receiving device. Upon receipt, of the digital rights management key, the recorded digital data stream is released for reproduction.
