Single Lever Mixing Valve

View page
US Patent:
40208710, May 3, 1977
Filed:
Mar 1, 1976
Appl. No.:
5/662495
Inventors:
Hugh F. Groth - Brecksville OH
Carl E. Bochmann - Brecksville OH
Guilbert M. Hunt - Brecksville OH
Assignee:
Crane Co. - New York NY
International Classification:
F16K 706
F16K 1118
US Classification:
1376361
Abstract:
A liquid mixing valve having a single handle for mixing hot and cold water which incorporates a pair of resilient, tube-like squeeze elements for water passage. A pair of cams, controlled by the handle through a linkage arrangement, restrict the cross-sectional area of the squeeze elements thereby regulating the hot and cold water flow rates.

Tilting Sanitary Tank

View page
US Patent:
48937207, Jan 16, 1990
Filed:
Feb 21, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/312169
Inventors:
Edward F. McKiernan - Big Prairie OH
Carl E. Bochmann - Brecksville OH
Assignee:
Sealand Technology, Inc. - Big Prairie OH
International Classification:
B65D 9000
US Classification:
220 5A
Abstract:
The emptying of the contents of a holding tank for a recreational vehicle or the like into a land based water closet is greatly simplified, and made much less unpleasant. A portable tank has wheels at one end and a handle at the other, with a discharge valve located adjacent the handle. A deployable stationary support is provided with the tank. The deployable support includes collars engaging stub shafts extending outwardly from the sides of the tank, and two sets of legs which provide a supporting base. As the tank is moved into a vertical position it moves to a point where it is no longer supported by the wheels, but instead is supported by the legs, and the connection between the tank and the legs is automatically unlatched. The tank is then tilted (pivoted) about a horizontal axis so that the discharge valve is right above a water closet. A tube extends from the valve into the toilet to about the point of the liquid level.

Dispensing Container For Fluids

Carbonated Beverage Container

View page
US Patent:
43164099, Feb 23, 1982
Filed:
Oct 10, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/083737
Inventors:
Joan M. Adams - Fairview NJ
Myron B. Shoaf - Cranbury NJ
Carl E. Bochmann - Cleveland OH
Peter A. Basile - Hudson OH
Assignee:
General Foods Corporation - White Plains NY
International Classification:
A23L 240
US Classification:
99275
Abstract:
A closed pressurized container for producing a carbonated beverage of superior quality by providing for contact therein of water and a solid carbonation source. The pressurized container is designed to withstand the pressures and temperatures generated during the preparation of a carbonated beverage from a solid carbonation source. In a preferred embodiment, the container is a rigid receptacle in the shape of a wide mouth bottle adapted to receive a large cap or cover. A perforated basket is mounted inside the cover, and is accessible to water in the bottle when that vessel is turned upside down to an inverted position. A spring loaded, manually operated valve is provided in the cover to permit venting of carbon dioxide from the interior thereof after the water-based mixture within the container has become sufficiently carbonated by absorbing carbon dioxide released by contact of water with the solid carbonation source.

Motorized Swing

View page
US Patent:
41508203, Apr 24, 1979
Filed:
Jun 13, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/805693
Inventors:
Carl E. Bochmann - Brecksville OH
Assignee:
Hedstrom Co. - Bedford PA
International Classification:
A63G 916
US Classification:
272 86
Abstract:
A child's motorized swing includes a frame from which a seat is suspended by spaced-apart hangers pivotally connected to the frame so that the seat and its occupant can swing like a pendulum. A battery operated drive unit mounted on the frame adjacent one of the hangers rotates a small crank situated adjacent the hanger. A resilient, lost motion linkage connected between the hanger and the rotating crank applies reinforcing impulses to the hanger which maintain the weighted seat in oscillation at its natural frequency.

Spreader For Particulate Material

View page
US Patent:
43043445, Dec 8, 1981
Filed:
Dec 26, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/107021
Inventors:
John D. Vogel - Sagamore Hills OH
Carl E. Bochmann - Cleveland OH
Assignee:
O. M. Scotts and Sons Company - Marysville OH
International Classification:
A01C 1502
US Classification:
222614
Abstract:
A spreader for distributing particulate material, particularly adapted for use as both a package for particulates and as a disposable spreader, comprises a dispenser, a pair of wheels mounted at opposite ends of the dispenser and a handle for advancing the spreader along a given path as the dispenser rotates. The dispenser has inner and outer chambers, the inner chamber adapted to act as a reservoir for particulate material, the outer chamber adapted to provide a circumferential passageway for particulate material passing from the inner chamber to the exterior of the spreader. A one-way valve arrangement in the passageway restricts particulate flow to the exterior when the dispenser is rotated in one direction but permits flow when rotated in the opposite direction.

Bellows Neck Squeeze Fluid Dispenser

View page
US Patent:
42168821, Aug 12, 1980
Filed:
Sep 8, 1978
Appl. No.:
5/940397
Inventors:
Peter A. Basile - Hudson OH
Carl E. Bochmann - Brecksville OH
Jack Halbeisen - Hudson OH
Assignee:
The Clorox Company - Oakland CA
International Classification:
B65D 3700
US Classification:
222207
Abstract:
A manually actuatable fluid dispenser comprises a plastic bottle container which includes an upstanding bottle neck portion having a flexible bellows formed integrally on one side thereof operable by a reciprocal trigger member which engages the bellows through a trigger spring for exerting a sustained but limited force on the bellows, and reaction force on the trigger member, over extensive trigger actuation travel and speed. The upper end of the cylindrical neck of the container is closed by a dispenser body which includes a fluid passage having a check valve disposed therein for controlling the flow of fluid in the fluid passage. A fluid tube disposed in the bottle neck includes a seal for fluid isolation of the bottle neck from the bottle, and a check valve for allowing flow of fluid from the bottle into the bottle neck.
