Radiation Curable Silicon Containing Polyarcylate Hardcoat Compositions, Method For Making, And Use

View page
US Patent:
54664918, Nov 14, 1995
Filed:
Sep 12, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/304300
Inventors:
Arnold Factor - Scotia NY
Larry N. Lewis - Scotia NY
Assignee:
General Electric Company - Schenectady NY
International Classification:
B05D 306
B32B 904
US Classification:
427515
Abstract:
There is provided a method and a composite made therefrom of an organic substrate, such as a polycarbonate and a radiation cured silicon containing polyacrylate hardcoat. Improved weathering resistance results when an anaerobic gelation inhibitor such as galvinoxyl is used during the processing of the hardcoat.

Organopolysiloxane-Polycarbonate Copolymers

View page
US Patent:
41267400, Nov 21, 1978
Filed:
Feb 2, 1978
Appl. No.:
5/874512
Inventors:
Arnold Factor - Scotia NY
Keith N. Sannes - Mt. Vernon IN
Assignee:
General Electric Company - Schenectady NY
International Classification:
C08G 7704
US Classification:
528 29
Abstract:
Polymeric compositions containing organosiloxane units and carbonate units modified by the presence of halogenated organic radicals imparting improved flame retardancy, reduced smoke evolution, and non-drip characteristics are described. Such compositions can be heat-treated alone or in the presence of curing agents to form thermoset products.
