Illumination Device With Electrical Variable Scattering Element

View page
US Patent:
8471498, Jun 25, 2013
Filed:
Sep 14, 2009
Appl. No.:
13/120174
Inventors:
Aly Aboulnaga - Des Plaines IL, US
Assignee:
Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V. - Eindhoven
International Classification:
H05B 37/02
US Classification:
315307, 315297, 315185 R, 315291
Abstract:
A current limiting controller () for a light emitting diode (LED) driver automatically resets the LED driver to normal operation after elimination of a fault. The current limiting controller () includes a fault detector to detect a fault across a load () that is being driven by the driver circuit (); a current limiter () to limit the current supplied from the driver circuit () to the load () in response to the detected fault; and a reset circuit () to disable the current limiter () upon expiration of a first time interval after the fault is detected, and to allow the current limiter () again to limit the current supplied from the driver circuit () to the load () when the detected fault remains after a second time interval.

Low Voltage Electronic Module Interface

US Patent:
20100231257, Sep 16, 2010
Filed:
Aug 15, 2007
Appl. No.:
12/377608
Inventors:
Srinivasa Baddela - Streamwood IL, US
Aly Aboulnaga - Des Plaines IL, US
Assignee:
KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS ELECTRONICS N.V. - EINDHOVEN
International Classification:
H03K 19/0175
US Classification:
326 62
Abstract:
A low voltage electronic module interface, with a low voltage interface for an electronic module receiving a constant current from a body control module, the interface including a reverse current protection circuit and a switch operably connected in series with the reverse current protection circuit the switch being responsive to a status signal The reverse current protection circuit and the switch form a low voltage electronic module interface circuit having a resistance; and the resistance is selected so voltage across the low voltage electronic module interface circuit is less than 2.70 Volts when the switch is closed and the constant current flows through the low voltage electronic module interface circuit
