Carbon Dioxide Capture From A Cement Manufacturing Process

View page
US Patent:
7976628, Jul 12, 2011
Filed:
Jun 19, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/456613
Inventors:
Gerald C. Blount - North Augusta SC, US
Ronald W. Falta - Seneca SC, US
Alvin A. Siddall - Aiken SC, US
Assignee:
Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC - Aiken SC
Clemson University - Clemson SC
International Classification:
C04B 7/36
US Classification:
106739, 106737, 106744, 60274
Abstract:
A process of manufacturing cement clinker is provided in which a clean supply of COgas may be captured. The process also involves using an open loop conversion of CaO/MgO from a calciner to capture COfrom combustion flue gases thereby forming CaCO/CaMg(CO). The CaCO/CaMg(CO)is then returned to the calciner where COgas is evolved. The evolved COgas, along with other evolved COgases from the calciner are removed from the calciner. The reactants (CaO/MgO) are feed to a high temperature calciner for control of the clinker production composition.

US Patent:
20050045751, Mar 3, 2005
Filed:
Mar 15, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/800503
Inventors:
Thomas Nance - Aiken SC, US
Alvin Siddall - Aiken SC, US
William Cheng - N. Augusta SC, US
Kevin Counts - Aiken SC, US
International Classification:
B08B003/00
US Classification:
239587100, 239280500, 239525000, 239532000
Abstract:
Disclosed is an elongated, tubular, compact high pressure sprayer apparatus for insertion into an access port of vessels having contaminated interior areas that require cleaning by high pressure water spray. The invention includes a spray nozzle and a camera adjacent thereto with means for rotating and raising and lowering the nozzle so that areas identified through the camera may be cleaned with a minimum production of waste water to be removed.
