13/411782
Inventors:
Joseph Simonetti - Southbury CT, US
Matthew J. Tarascio - Milford CT, US
Michael Peter Strauss - New Haven CT, US
Adam Kasprzyk - Shelton CT, US
Timothy Fred Lauder - Oxford CT, US
Assignee:
SIKORSKY AIRCRAFT CORPORATION - Stratford CT
International Classification:
B64C 27/82
B64D 37/00
B64D 13/08
B64D 41/00
B64D 15/00
US Classification:
244 1721, 244 58, 244134 R
Abstract:
A rotary wing aircraft propulsion system includes an engine, a heat exchanger cooling a fluid from the engine and a thermoelectric generator in thermal communication with the fluid to generate electrical power. The thermoelectric generator provides electrical power to at least one aircraft component.

Climate Control System For Increased Electric Vehicle Range

View page
US Patent:
20190381861, Dec 19, 2019
Filed:
Jun 21, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/014889
Inventors:
- Newark CA, US
Adam Kasprzyk - Fremont CA, US
Assignee:
Atieva, Inc. - Menlo Park CA
International Classification:
B60H 1/00
B60H 1/22
B60H 3/02
Abstract:
A method for heating the air within the passenger cabin of an electric vehicle is provided. The method utilizes a heat pump to permit efficient air recirculation by the vehicle's HVAC system, thereby increasing driving range, especially in cold weather conditions.

External Auxiliary Thermal Management System For An Electric Vehicle

View page
US Patent:
20170088007, Mar 30, 2017
Filed:
Sep 25, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/865023
Inventors:
- Menlo Park CA, US
Adam Kasprzyk - Fremont CA, US
Assignee:
ATIEVA, INC. - Menlo Park CA
International Classification:
B60L 11/18
F25B 49/02
H01M 10/42
H01M 10/625
H01M 10/613
Abstract:
An auxiliary thermal management system is provided that can be used to supplement an electric vehicle's on-board thermal management system during charging, thereby allowing a fast charging system to be used without adding weight or taking up packaging volume in the EV. The auxiliary system is configured to allow it to be coupled, for example using quick-disconnect couplings, to thermal conduits within the vehicle's battery pack.

External Auxiliary Thermal Management System For An Electric Vehicle

US Patent:
20170088008, Mar 30, 2017
Filed:
Sep 25, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/865252
Inventors:
- Menlo Park CA, US
Adam Kasprzyk - Fremont CA, US
Assignee:
ATIEVA, INC. - Menlo Park CA
International Classification:
B60L 11/18
H01M 10/6569
H01M 10/625
Abstract:
An auxiliary thermal management system is provided that can be used to supplement an electric vehicle's on-board thermal management system during charging, thereby allowing a fast charging system to be used without adding weight or taking up packaging volume in the EV. The auxiliary system is configured to allow it to force cooled, or heated, air through the radiator of the on-board thermal management system. An air duct, which may be adjusted in order to accommodate a wide range of EVs, provides efficient transfer of conditioned air to the on-board radiator.
