Electrical Connector Assembly

View page
US Patent:
6884106, Apr 26, 2005
Filed:
Feb 7, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/072038
Inventors:
Aaron J. Shuman - Harrisburg PA, US
John R. Shuey - Mechanicsburg PA, US
Neena Sooch - Sterling Heights MI, US
Guy Willems - Knokke-Heist, BE
Assignee:
Tyco Electronics Corporation - Middletown PA
International Classification:
H01R013/627
US Classification:
439358, 439352
Abstract:
An electrical connector assembly includes a plug having front end including a mating interface and a receptacle having an opening configured to receive the mating interface of the plug. A deflectable latch includes a beam having a front end secured with the front end of the plug housing and a rear, free-standing end which is biasable towards the plug to permit the plug and receptacle to be mated with one another. The latch includes first and second latching projections extending from opposite sides of the beam. First and second latch mating elements are positioned within the receptacle opening to securely engage the first and second latching projections when the plug and receptacle housings are fully mated with one another. The plug and receptacle include first and second mating keying features. One of the keying features is configured to prevent other plugs with mating interfaces of the same size from being inserted into the receptacle.

Portable Oxygen Concentrator

View page
US Patent:
20110315140, Dec 29, 2011
Filed:
Jun 29, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/826144
Inventors:
Aaron Jeffrey Shuman - Allentown PA, US
Assignee:
PRECISION MEDICAL, INC. - Northampton PA
International Classification:
A61M 16/10
B01D 53/047
US Classification:
12820423, 12820511, 12820421, 12820524, 96113, 96114, 96121
Abstract:
A vacuum pressure swing absorption system provides portable oxygen to medical patients. A pair of sieve beds are alternately pressurized with air and evacuated by vacuum by coordinated operation of a selector valve and a vent valve. Product gas flows from both sieve beds through respective check valves to a product tank. An equalization valve is operated in coordination with the selector valve and the vent valve to open a flow path between the sieve beds and allow pressure to equalize therebetween. Operation of the vent valve is time to occur after pressure in the sieve beds has equalized. Components of the concentrator are tuned so that the equalization pressure occurs at about zero pounds per square inch (psi). This reduces energy loss due to free expansion of gasses and reduces noise created by the venting of gasses to the ambient atmosphere.

US Classification:
439157, 439153, 439372
Abstract:
An electrical connector is provided including matable first and second housings configured to receive electrical contacts. The electrical connector assembly includes a lever member having a cam arm engaging the first and second housing to connect the first and second housings to join corresponding electrical contacts. The first housing has a latch assembly engaging the lever member when the lever member is in a final engaged position. The first housing has a locking member that holds the cam arm in an insertion position. The first housing has a wire shield with feet and a tab that is retained in slots and a catch on the first housing. The electrical contacts have retention features that are retained in an encapsulate in a chamber abutting the second housing.
